Tips And Ideas On What To Wear On Valentines Day Date

a photoValentines Day is in the air. Most women are looking forward for a great and romantic date with their love ones. Whether your new boyfriend wants to take you on a sexy date or your husband wants to treat you to an elegant evening dinner, you’ll need to dress for love!

Use these tips and ideas below to figure out what to wear on St. Valentine’s Day to make the holiday of love full of fashionable fun.

Choosing Your Color Wisely – Why Not Red, Pink or Hearts
Nothing says Valentine’s Day like wearing red or pink. While these colors may be too bold for everyday wear, they are more than acceptable for the holiday of love. When choosing your perfect red or pink outfit, think about your skin tone and hair color. There are thousands of shades of both colors, allowing you to wear one which will compliment your skin. Those with dark hair can get away with bolder colors of red. Those with light hair should stick with cooler shades of red or pink. However, those with red hair should steer clear of red altogether and choose a nice light pink for the holiday. If you can fathom wearing either red or pink in your outfit, consider celebrating the holiday with accessories. Add a red scarf to your black suit or a pink belt to your little back dress.

Get Flirty In a Skirt
If you want to look like you’re up for a little flirting fun, think about choosing a skirt for your Valentine’s Date. Since this holiday is extremely romantic, it’s a great idea for you to embrace your feminine style and dress like a lady. A great red, pink or black dress is ideal. However, a great A-line or pencil skirt can make just as great of an impression. Pair it with a form fitting top, high heels and soft jewelry for maximum fashion style.

Whether you plan on showing it off or not, lingerie is a “must” on a Valentine’s Date. Lingerie automatically makes a woman feel more feminine, sexy and attractive. Thus, it’s a great idea to buy something new to wear under your clothing for a romantic date on Valentine’s Day. Even if you don’t allow anyone else to sneak a peek, you’ll feel sexier just by having it on.

Makeup & Hairstyles for Romantic Evenings
Valentine’s Date makeup should be suited for the activity. For example, if your date is taking you on a romantic ice skating date in New York City, there’s no need for full makeup and extravagant hairstyles. Instead, choose to keep it simple and sweet with rosy cheeks, glossy lips and a neutral eye. Keep your hair simple and romantic by curling it into soft curls and pulling it into a ponytail.

However, if your date is in the evening think about using a smoky eye makeup technique, red gloss on the lips and rosy cheeks. For extra shimmer, skip the glitter (it’s only reserved fan imageor teens and young girls) and instead use a champagne body shimmer on your cheeks and cleavage. In a pinch you can substitute the genuine body shimmer for shimmering white eye shadow or highlighting cream. An evening date requires more sophisticated hair so choose a fancy up-do, a simple bun or loose and flowing curls.

Clothing To Avoid – Keep it Elegant
Just because it’s Valentine’s Day doesn’t mean you should pull out the hearts and cupid imprinted turtleneck or the homemade holiday sweatshirt. Instead, choose to be festive in a more subtle manner. You can quickly add a sense of holiday fun to an outfit my using metallic accessories to celebrate. A scarf with a metallic stripe in it or even a shirt with a silver pinstripe can instantly scream “holiday” while still allowing you to look classy and in fashion.

10 Commandments of Valentines Day

I just found this article few a hours ago and just wanted to share to you guys since it's only 2 days to go for Valentines Day - The ten commandments of Valentine's Day. Surprise? Well don't be it's as easy as eating ice cream.

Here they are: Thou shalt:

1: Look your best. Honestly, what does it takes to put on a decent shirt, shave and get a decent haircut? If you've been dating a while, that stuff has a tendency to slip, FIX IT! FYI: Lemondrop suggests some pretty dramatic things she can do to her lady region, so you can get rid of that unibrow.

2: Bring a gift. For dog, dog, dog's sake, bring a gift. Be creative guys! She'll appreciate the sentiment. Bonus points if it's homemade. Don't go crazy, you may have to top this. Em & Lo have a wide range of suggestions of stuff she can get you, don't show up empty-handed. Candy is totally optional.

3: Have a dinner planned. You don't have to go to the Four Seasons and eat caviar (in this economy, that would be crazy). But have plans, either a reservation somewhere you've never been or dinner at the homestead. Bonus points for showing that you do listen to her, as always. A few dinner ideas from iVillage.

4: Pack flower power. They're dead, they're pricey and this time of year really lets florists gouge you. Not important, women really dig flowers. Here's an explanation.. Also, sending them to her workplace is a slick deal because her coworkers will be quite jealous. That's the ticket, guys.

5: Wine 'em up. A little wine goes a long, long way with most gals. There's something more romantic about a nice cabernet than a sixer of Bud tallboys (go figure). And these days ferment grape juice is pretty affordable.

6: Pick a card, any card. Hallmark has taken you hostage, no doubt. But you still should bring a card, seriously. You can even make your own at home (I'm partial to preschool-style glitter and macaroni monstrosities). Par for the course, extra points are given for humor (tasteful is appreciated).

7: Keep it in your pants, lover boy. I mean that semi-literally, while there is something in the air in and around February 14th, it's not a carte blanche invitation to expose yourself to someone you've been sweating. One of our panelists on That's What He Said found out about that little wrinkle the hard way.

8: Make it intimate, keep it sexy. Not to contradict the above, but feel free to crank up the romance, dude. Ladies (especially after item 5: Wine) appreciate the sensual. This is not a go-ahead to morph into Leon Phelps (The Ladies Man), but try out some candles or scented oils with your full-time lady. Shine suggests a bath for two. That is intimate.

9: Remember it's just one night. For realsies, it's one night; don't make other plans. Full, undivided attention is a commodity more valuable than light, sweet crude oil in the '09er; give it up. And don't be a dadgum baby about the whole thing. Dragging ass or pouting won't make you enjoy it more. If an issue comes up, agree to disagree (I, generally, don't agree to that).

10: Bring the tunes. I've always thought "Sexual Healing" and "Let's Get It On" (the whole Marvin Gaye seduction catalogue, it appears) to be a slightly cheeser. But to each his/ her own (AKA know thy lay). Crank the Seal up to a comfortable listening level and get a little bit crazy. Big bonus points for sentimentality.* Paste sort of endorses the new Ryan Adams album ("Anything For Love" is sadly missing).

Goodluck and Happy Valentines Day to all!
